Definite article THE can be pronounced in two ways
The house
The university
The aunt
The eye
The origin of definite article is demonstrative and it is used when the noun is determined or defined by the situation or by the context
I shall clean the car tomorrow. (my car )
I enjoyed the holiday. The hotel was very nice. ( my hotel )
Give me the ball. ( the ball that you have in your hand)
Belgrade is the capital of Serbia. ( there is only one capital of Serbia)

U engleskom jeziku postoje dve vrste člana:
Određeni član (Definite article) THE
Neodređeni član (Indefinite article) A/AN
Može da se izgovori na 2 načina i to u zavisnosti od toga da li reč koja prethodi počinje samoglasnikom ili suglasnikom:

1. Poreklo odredjenog člana je iz pokaznih zamenica i on se koristi kada je imenica ispred koje stoji određena kontekstom ili situacijom.
I shall clean the car tomorrow. (my car)
I enjoyed the holiday.
The hotel was very nice. (my hotel)
Give me the ball. (the ball that you have in your hand)
Belgrade is the capital of Serbia. (there is only one capital of Serbia)
Očistiću auto sutra.
Uživao sam u odmoru. Hotel je bio dobar.
Daj mi loptu. (tu loptu koju imaš u ruci.)
Beograd je glavni grad Srbije. (Postoji samo
jedan glavni grad u Srbiji.)
2. Ako je stvar ili osoba jedna jedina u svojoj vrsti

Sunce sija.
Nebo je plavo.
Predsednik je u Jordanu.
